W I D E Appeal

One of the biggest fall/winter fashion trends we’ve seen in recent years is the boot over jeans. A simple enough trend that looks great and is easy enough to wear, that is if you don’t have thick calves! My thick calf sisters know exactly how difficult it can be to shop for a boot that goes anywhere above the calf, let alone past the calf and over the knee. You tug and tug and almost break a sweat trying to get into those fabulous boots that fit your feet perfectly, but just stop a little too short! The thing about boots is, its not like jeans, you can’t jump around a little and get them to fit, and you definitely can’t tuck your calves in, or wait to loose a few pounds,  Now we know most knee high boots, especially those designer brands are made for the unfortunately calf-less, seems a little unfair huh? Now don’t get me wrong, I love my muscular calves, they are dangerously sexy paired with a pump, but just try getting a boot over them and here comes all the frustration! Have no fear there are options out there for the sassy fashionista! To get that boot fix start with DSW.com, they carry a multitude of wide calf styles at very affordable prices that include Coconuts Tommy, JONES NEW YORK, Bare Traps, and Ciao Bella. DSW even goes as far as to go through their inventory and pick styles that though aren’t necessarily made for lager calf's, but do the job just as well. The always trusty Zappos is another avenue to explore for the wider aesthetic. They carry the rsvp line that caters to wider calf's and feet and their prices are quite reasonable as well. For that classic tailored look with wide appeal, sassy fashionista’s should look to J.Crew. Other brands that cater us wide calf sisters though not as extensively are Modern Vintage, Enzo Angiolini and Sergio Rossi. These designers are a pricy, but it may be well worth it for the sassy fashionista who craves the undeniable style and quality. Happy hunting ladies!
